Desay SV Launches Automotive-Grade PIR Sensor, Equipped in NIO ES8 2026 Model

Desay SV, a leading automotive electronics supplier based in Shenzhen, announced on November 5 that its automotive-grade PIR sensor D-PIR-A200 has been officially adopted by NIO’s 2026 ES8 flagship SUV. The sensor will be installed in the vehicle’s rear seat area to realize intelligent functions such as child presence detection (CPD) and seat ventilation automatic adjustment, marking the first application of Chinese-developed PIR sensors in high-end new energy vehicles (NEVs).
The D-PIR-A200 has passed IATF 16949 automotive quality management system certification and meets the ISO 26262 ASIL B functional safety standard. It can operate stably in the temperature range of -40℃ to 125℃, adapting to extreme weather conditions. The sensor uses a special filter coating to avoid interference from sunlight and in-vehicle display screens, with a child detection accuracy of 99.9% within 0.5-1.5 meters. “Automotive PIR sensing is a high-growth segment with a domestic market size of RMB 1.2 billion in 2025,” said Zhou Ming, Desay SV’s Intelligent Cockpit Division Director. “We’ve also reached cooperation intentions with BYD and XPeng, and expect to supply 1.5 million units of automotive PIR sensors in 2026, accounting for 25% of the domestic market.”
