Shenzhen Sunwin Technology, a leading manufacturer of consumer electronics sensors, held the commissioning ceremony of its new PIR sensor production base in Dongguan on November 5. With a total investment of RMB 1.2 billion, the base covers an area of 50,000 square meters and is equipped with 20 fully automated production lines, increasing Sunwin’s annual PIR sensor capacity from 40 million units to 100 million units, making it the largest PIR sensor production base in South China.
The new base adopts Industry 4.0 intelligent manufacturing systems, with a production automation rate of 95% and a defect rate controlled below 0.03%. It mainly produces PIR sensors for consumer electronics such as smart doorbells, security cameras, and smart lighting, with key customers including Amazon, Google, and Xiaomi. “The global consumer PIR sensor market is growing rapidly, and our original capacity could not meet customer demand,” said Liu Tao, Sunwin Technology’s CEO. “The new base will focus on cost reduction through scale effect, with product unit cost expected to decrease by 15%. We aim to achieve a global market share of 12% in 2026, up from the current 6%.”
