Hangzhou-based Hikvision, a global leader in video surveillance and sensing technologies, officially launched its DS-PIR2000 industrial-grade passive infrared sensor on November 4, 2025. Tailored for human-machine collaboration scenarios in smart factories, the product immediately secured a 200,000-unit procurement order from Foxconn Technology Group, valued at approximately RMB 36 million. The sensor is designed to be embedded in robotic workstations across Foxconn’s Zhengzhou and Shenzhen campuses, primarily for real-time detection of human presence in high-risk operation zones.
Technically, the DS-PIR2000 boasts a detection range of 0.3 to 8 meters and a response time of ≤0.08 seconds, outperforming the industry average of 0.12 seconds. It integrates Hikvision’s self-developed AI anti-interference algorithm that preloads 5,000+ feature libraries of interference sources such as mechanical vibration, thermal airflow, and dust particles, reducing the false alarm rate to less than 0.05 times per month. The product has obtained ISO 13849-1 SIL 2 functional safety certification and IP69K protection rating, enabling stable operation in harsh environments with temperatures ranging from -40℃ to 85℃. “The demand for industrial safety sensing is growing at a CAGR of 35% in China,” said Li Jun, General Manager of Hikvision’s Sensing Division. “We expect the DS-PIR2000 to capture 20% of the domestic industrial PIR market by Q2 2026.”
