Siemens has introduced the SIRIUS PIR safety sensor, a new pyroelectric sensor designed for personnel detection in hazardous industrial areas. The sensor carries SIL2 (Safety Integrity Level 2) certification for functional safety applications.
The SIRIUS PIR is designed to detect personnel in restricted areas, near dangerous machinery, or in hazardous zones. When motion is detected, it can trigger equipment shutdown, activate alarms, or send alerts to safety systems.
