Honeywell has announced the 5800PIR-10, a new wireless PIR motion sensor for its security systems that achieves an unprecedented 10-year battery life using a single CR123A lithium battery.
The sensor uses the Excelitas PYD 2597 ultra-low power PIR element (2µA standby) combined with a custom low-power RF transmitter. Average current consumption is just 1.8µA.
