[citation:3]<\/p>\n<p>The sensor operates from supply voltages as low as 1.4V with current consumption of just 2\u00b5A at 1.8V, making it one of the lowest-power digital PIR sensors available on the market. The device is fully integrated with two pyroelectric elements and manufactured using fully RoHS-compliant materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supply Voltage Range: 1.4V to 3.6V<\/li>\n<li>Current Consumption: 2\u00b5A at 1.8V (typical)<\/li>\n<li>Integrated Motion Detection Unit (MDU) with interrupt functionality<\/li>\n<li>One-Wire Digital Interface for simplified system integration<\/li>\n<li>Typical responsivity: 3.2 kV\/W<\/li>\n<li>Field of View: 130\u00b0 in TO-5 package<\/li>\n<li>Excellent immunity to electromagnetic interference<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The sensor&#8217;s wake-up mode allows systems to remain in low-power standby until motion is detected. When motion is detected, the MDU asserts an interrupt that can wake a sleeping microcontroller, enabling true &#8220;zero-power standby&#8221; for battery-operated devices. [citation:3]<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The PYD 2597 was designed to address one of the biggest challenges in PIR-based motion detection\u2014minimizing power consumption in always-on applications,&#8221; said Hermann Karagoezoglu, Product Manager, IR Sensing at Excelitas. &#8220;Its ultra-low current operation and low-voltage capability enable efficient, battery-powered designs without compromising detection performance.&#8221; [citation:3]<\/p>\n<p>The sensor is well suited for long-range motion detection, intrusion alarms, energy-saving systems, horizontal mounting designs, and battery-operated devices. Compared with alternative digital PIR sensors and camera- or radar-based motion detection technologies, Excelitas&#8217; solution delivers lower power consumption, lower cost, and inherent privacy advantages.
